What It Means to Be Reggio Emilia–Inspired
At FPP, the Reggio Emilia philosophy shapes how we see children, how we teach, and how we create classroom environments. It’s a warm, thoughtful approach designed to honor children’s natural curiosity and support meaningful learning.

Children Are Curious Thinkers
We see each child as capable, creative, and eager to explore. Their questions and ideas guide much of the learning that happens here. Children are encouraged to:
-
Investigate how things work
-
Make connections
-
Collaborate with classmates
-
Express themselves in many different ways
Teachers Are Co-Learners
Teachers aren’t just instructors. They observe, ask thoughtful questions, and help children explore their ideas more deeply. Teachers support learning by:
-
Listening and noticing
-
Documenting children’s thinking
-
Encouraging problem solving
-
Guiding projects based on children’s interests

The Environment Is the Third Teacher
Classrooms are designed with purpose. Materials, light, organization, and layout all encourage independence, collaboration, and creativity. Our spaces help children:
-
Explore freely
-
Make choices
-
Revisit ideas
-
Engage in meaningful play
The Reggio Emilia Spirit at FPP
The Reggio Emilia approach began in a small town in Northern Italy, built on the belief that children learn best through curiosity, collaboration, and exploration. At FPP, we bring this philosophy to life by documenting meaningful moments, offering hands-on experiences with real materials, and creating spaces that inspire discovery. Our teachers learn alongside children, staying responsive and reflective as their ideas grow. In essence, we honor children as capable learners and build a community where families, teachers, and children learn together.
