CLASSES

The learning approach at First Presbyterian Preschool is predicated on the belief that children are curious, creative, and capable. Our program philosophy is implemented through project-focused, emergent, play-based curriculum. STEAM concepts (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) are infused in all areas of our curriculum.

Our classes meet late August through May. Because First Presbyterian Preschool is in the heart of midtown Atlanta, we generally follow the Atlanta Public School schedule with the same winter and spring breaks. Inclement weather closings are determined independently by the preschool. Additionally, the preschool schedules days off for faculty professional
development and religious holidays.

This class is an accredited Georgia kindergarten and prepares children to enter into a first grade curriculum if they are developmentally ready for that transition. It is also appropriate for those deciding on future placement in either a full day kindergarten or first grade.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

We also offer after school programs through the church’s School of Fine Arts Offering options for social interaction and enrichment beyond the school day.
We offer after school enrichment programs in many disciplines All programs are offered from Mon – Fri from 1:10 p.m. – 2:10 p.m

PARENTS MORNING OUT

Although not part of First Presbyterian Preschool, the church offers a Parent Morning Out (PMO) program each day from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm for children beginning at 8 weeks of age. The PMO program is housed in the same building as the preschool.
